Plan C...

Well, well, well.  I emailed our realtor today and asked if he thought I should paint the bonus room.  He emailed back and it began, "I love you..."

I knew I was screwed.  Here's his email:

I love you and we are on the same team, so do not take any of this personally. There were two Realtors through on Sunday and I asked them the same questions. They said the same thing; the house is GORGEOUS, but it is very style specific and there is so much to see that the buyer has a hard time seeing there own personal things in the home. Based on those comments and the number of people that have been through the home so far without a single offer I would:

Take off of the walls most all personal photographs and decorative items
Move Ival’s TV chair into storage (guess I'm going to buy a new, expensive chair this weekend)
Move the decorative wooden piece on the front porch into storage (it's an old corn shucker that weighs about 400 pounds)
Move the bear into storage and repaint the bonus room white (how we're going to get that downstairs I have no idea)
Move the round table upstairs with the flag into storage
Get all of the yard art up and into storage
Add two or three small pots with some colorful plants on the back patio
The stool in the entry goes to storage
Paint the bonus room white

Sigh.  We're going to have to go to the storage unit and consolidate.  I refuse to pay more for another unit.  I told him we'd have it done by the end of the weekend.  Which means Saturday because Sunday is Easter.

And, my lichen planus is back.  I got it when Claude Dallas was released and had it for about 2 years.  It's a lovely disease, I've missed it.

I also realized something about Plan B.  The 2 of us who more inclined to move in that direction have both survived cancer.  Isn't the mind an interesting thing?

Please.  Remember this blog is my journal.  No sympathy.  I write this because I know that someday I'll go back and read this and either laugh or at least realize how much more I appreciate our wonderful home and property because of it.  I have a wonderful life, wonderful family and friends.  Thank you for being my friends and family.  Life is good.

Now excuse me.  I'm going to go curl up in the fetal position...

Well phuck.

It sounds like a lot of work but I think he's absolutely right. Damn I wish I lived down there, I'd come help.

Just remember, this work WILL get the house sold. And then you'll be so glad you have all that stuff already packed and put away. You'll be that much closer to moving on.

Love you.

That's true Kate! And, Ival had to bring the trailer home from work this week so it's already sitting empty in the driveway ready for us to load it up.

What Kate said. Of course, I also plan to be busy when you call me to help you move that bear down the stairs and into storage. ;-D

Shoot - and just when you were going to buy that taxidermy squirrel to put in the bathroom...

Have fun!

Tyler has helped us so much on the property. He helped build fence and planted those big ass trees. He's a wonderful friend.

I did indeed notice we were the only 2 in favor of plan B....life is short and we know it. Your house would probably rent in no time in today's market....so if it doesn't sell this time I say go for plan B. It is your dream and you need to live it while you are healthy enough to enjoy it!

Sheri, I've been upstairs painting all morning. I hate painting. Painting and thinking. I shouldn't think. If we haven't sold the house by June, that's exactly what we're going to do. When you've had cancer, there's no a single day that goes by that you don't think about death. Not one. Ival and I have looked at property here in Dry Creek since we lived in my grama's house 24 years ago. It took us all this time but I WILL have a house on that land by the end of the year - and we'll be living the dream. Not many people get to do that do they?

Amen Sister! After surviving cancer twice a little thing like 2 mortgages seems pretty small risk to live a dream! Go for it!!

You are doing such a great job on the house----you've worked your little butt off, all while you are sick and feel rotten. bad colds suck.

Where oh, where is that person that will LOVE your house !!!!!!!
