For the artwork on the coin, they wanted to use dad's print of the Cowboy and the Bird. I called mom to ask her about it and we both agreed that we couldn't think of a better way to use dad's artwork.
Today, Gary sent me a copy of what the coin will look like. My first thought was how proud dad would be to know his artwork was being used for such a positive program. I hope the Department gives them the go-ahead to purchase the coins and that it eventually goes statewide as people aren't often enough recognized for the good they do.
So, here it is. Pretty awesome isn't it!

What a fantastic idea! All we cops seem to do is give out invitations to visit the judges. It is awesome to reward good behavior, especially with something so meaningful....the man who came up with this program is a very bright individual.
I just love that print on the coin. It gives real meaning to the idea of the project---I'm glad he thought of it.

PS. Wonder if we could get our hands on a few of them? I'd LOVE to give one to Anna. She's really into learning about her grampa lately.

I printed the coin out on heavy card stock. Will secure it to a thin piece of Lucite, cover with liquid plastic, install a pin, and have a badge for my fly fishing vest to remind people, that it doesn't hurt to be kind.
