Adam loves to ski. He's never taken lessons, but about 5 years ago when he was 10, his Aunt Kelli took him skiing and she said he was a natural. Some of his friends parents who've taken him say the same thing. He's a great skier. It looks like this year he's going to have lots of opportunity to go either with friends' parents, or the boys will ride the bus up the hill.
So, he asked for ski stuff for Christmas. Rather than get him a bunch of stuff that he'd look at and say "Ok, which one of you hillbillies picked this out?", we decided to take him to pick out his own cool crap.
$1,200.00 later, he's all set. Helmet, goggles, scarf, pants, jacket, skis, bindings, poles, socks and boots (we leased those cause his feet are growing so fast - he's a size 11 at 15!)
Silly me, I thought it would cost about $800 for everything. It's peanut butter and jelly for the next few months...

Well, he is colorful ! Are you sure that's Adam in there? At last he can go on the bus, and so he can go way more often . How great is that ! ! !
I'm sure Michael Phelps Mom felt the same way!If you have a natural and have the ability to nourish it...it's the right thing to do. Besides....he looks so cool!
He looks scary!
I'll bet he agrees with me and thinks he looks cool!
Hey, you never know! Maybe this will spur him on to something greater. Like, say, the OLYMPICS. ;)
Well all Michael Phelp's mom had to buy him was a Speedo and a dorky hat. Skiing is EXPENSIVE!
But that's awesome that he's a natural and loves it. Yay Adam!!
I'm so glad my kids were never into skiing...
Wow! That's one lucky kid. My children got a $25 limit each for Christmas.
Tallulah, he's not lucky, he's spoiled - spoiled rotten.
WoW! Jodi finally blogged!
