Middle Fork Clean Sweep...

On Saturday, Elmer and I and Adam and a friend are participating in the second annual Middle Fork Clean Sweep.

The Middle Fork of the Boise River was one of dad's favorite places and was his work territory for much of his time in Boise. When he died, the Forest Service named a trail after him.

I've only been up there a couple of times - mostly due to the fact that both times I've been on the trail, I've seen a bear within 100 yards of leaving the road. I'm terrified of bears, thanks to my brother.

But Saturday, we'll be cleaning the section of the Middle Fork near dad's trail and I'm going to get brave enough to take Adam up the trail. It should be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to getting Adam involved in community service. I'll take lots of pictures and will share some over the weekend.

  2. I loved seeing the sign again. It warms my heart that they named it for him and Bill would scoff but be so proud.
And I'm so pleased that you all are going up for the cleanup. Great idea and those bears are lovin' that meadow. !
