There's a new house being built in Hidden Springs on one of the few remaining lots. I'm sure it's a build-job and not a spec home - after all, who else would want to live in a barn - besides us? I love the outside. We couldn't go in because the doors were locked, but I wasn't crazy about the floor plan after peeking through the windows. The master was upstairs and the kitchen wasn't visible from the living room. But, I love the outside. But, I love "our" barn too.
So this...
or that?
Which one do you like?
I dunno...I love the barn, but that other one is cool too. Just don't paint it white. That's fugly. ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd git your butt in there and take pictures!
I dunno----it might be hard to have a red house/barn. The white house would look so good with shutters and window boxes with flowers, and the barn-garage next door like the 1st pic. the room between the house and garage is the laundry room----big one. and , I guess mud room.
ReplyDeleteOne word: PORCH
ReplyDeleteThey WILL do a wrap around porch. Its a must.
ReplyDeleteI like the second one!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the red barn. The white one is nice too, but it just seems to lack a sense of coziness. Then again, you have Ival so maybe you don't need any more cozy :)
ReplyDeleteYour original plan is better. I see where they're trying to go with the build job, but my problem with it is that it is totally contrived. A white farm house and a red barn are awesome together, but to build a brand new house that's mocked up to look like it? LAME-O.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'd like it better (read: it wouldn't be so obvious) if the house and the barn weren't connected. I know why they are, but it's just too twee.
I agree, I still love our little red barn. Although, I think we'd actually paint it a smokey green color, but I love the plan my brother-in-law Joe is drawing up to make it our home!
